Michelle “Mickey” Rouse-Honnors, 89 of Billerica, formerly of Stoneham, died peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday July 19, at Lahey Hospital Medical Center in Burlington.
She was born on October 27, 1935 in Medford Massachusetts to Charles and Anna (Greene) Sullivan. She graduated in 1953 from St. Charles High School in Woburn. She then worked at The New England Telephone Company until she moved to Billerica to raise her family.
She embraced life and overcame challenges presented with dignity and perseverance. She carried a deep appreciation for her Irish heritage which she imparted to her family. Making a visit in 1997 to County Wicklow Ireland, where her mother Anna was born, was an experience she treasured. Michelle enjoyed many lifelong friendships with classmates and others that she grew up with. She will be remembered as a great storyteller.
Michelle was the wife of her greatest love the late James Gregory Rouse, and her second husband the late Robert Allen “Bob” Honnors. She was the mother and dedicated advocate for her cherished special needs son the late Gerald Christopher “Chris” Rouse.
She is survived by her son James Rouse and his wife Dawn of Londonderry, NH, and her daughter Jeanne (Rouse) Molloy and her husband John of Greenville, SC, and grandchildren Derek and Ryan Rouse, and Patrick, Caitlin, and Brady Molloy. Stepson Robert Honnors his wife Jane and family.
Also surviving are brother William Sullivan of Woburn and his children April Sullivan, Joseph Sullivan, and Kerry (Sullivan) Cahill and their families. Sister-in-law Hideko Sullivan and her children William Sullivan, Michelle “Mickey” Sullivan, John Sullivan and their families, nieces and nephews Mary Sarah (Rouse) Riggs, Breffney (Rouse) Dill, Matthew Rouse, Gregory Rouse, Daniel Rouse, David Rouse, Philip Rouse and
Michelle is preceded in death by her siblings Eleanor Martin, Charles Sullivan, Jeanne Sullivan, Timothy Sullivan, dear cousin Joseph Sullivan, brother-in-law Harold Rouse, and sister-in-law Olive Rouse.
Her Funeral service will be held in the McDonald-Finnegan-Anderson Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Tuesday, July 29 at 11:30 a.m.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be at the Funeral Home on Monday, July 28 from 4-7pm.
