Nicholas Cresta

Nicholas S. Cresta of Wakefield, age 73 died May 24 in Methuen following a brief illness. Born in Italy on March 8, 1936 he was the son of the late Nicholas and Philomena (Dragonetti) Cresta. Mr. Cresta came to Wakefield as a young boy and graduated from Wakefield High School. He had been a self employed flooring contactor in Wakefield and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Mr. Cresta was the husband of Roberta M. Degurski-Cresta and the late Janet (Murphy) Cresta. He was the father of Nicholas, Kenneth and Joseph Cresta and the brother of Sam, Charles, Mario, John and Larry Cresta and Aurora DeVine and the late Armando and Nancy Cresta, Grace Jensen and Rose Bruno. He is also survived his grandchildren Kathleen, Suzanne, Anthony, Belinda, Cecelia, James, Jillian and Joseph.

His funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Saturday June 6 at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Nicholas' name to the Forestdale Community Church, 235 Forest St., Malden, MA 02148.
