Nina Falite, 95, peacefully passed away on September 17, 2022, surrounded by her entire family. Nina was born in Everett in 1927, where she grew up alongside her late sister and brother, Gloria Falite and Francesco Ruggiero.
Nina was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph A. Falite. Shortly after they were married, Nina and "Joe" became part of the "Watertown Gang" and cultivated friendships of a lifetime. Throughout their 61-year marriage, they built an extraordinary life together, much of which was spent traveling the world and raising their three children. Among her many passions in life, Nina's family was always the most important.
Nina was wonderfully devoted to her family and is survived by her daughter Donna Petyt and her husband Gerard of France, her son Stephen Falite and his partner Lisa Costa of Topsfield, and her daughter Mariann Graham and her husband Daniel of Billerica. She was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren: Ariane, Alan, Casey, Jenna, Justin, Britney, Christopher, and Michael, and six great-grandchildren: Bella, Dahlia, Lucie, Noah, Tony, and Charlie. Nina is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, who warmly referred to her as "Auntie Nana Nina."
In addition to her devotion to her family, Nina was especially known for her chic sense of style, skilled cooking, and love for the game of golf. If you knew Nina, you knew she was always dressed to impress. In this spirit, she pursued many passions, including mastering the art of floral design, dressmaking, and spent over 20 years working as a Comparative Shopper at Loehmann's. Nina was equally talented in the kitchen and was famously known for her pizza, eggplant parmesan, and pizzelle recipes. As with all her interests, Nina excelled in the game of golf, accomplishing the rare achievement of a hole in one - not once, but twice!
Above all, Nina was a strong and compassionate woman whose gentle acts of kindness touched the lives of everyone she met. She exemplified grace and inspired many with her positive and gracious outlook on life. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from her, and we will miss her every day.
