Norman Canney

Norman E . Canney , age 93 of Stoneham, died on Saturday November 26 at his home.

He was born in Malden on October 27, 1929 and was the son of the late Elroy Carpenter and Pearle (Taylor) Canney .

Norman grew up in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, class of 1947. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a Service Agent for American Airlines for over 30 years and met his wife of 40 years while working there. Norman loved gardening, planting tomatoes, traveling, music, and collecting stamps.

He was the beloved husband of the late Helene (Allay) Canney . He was the loving father of Kevin Canney of Stoneham and Katie Canney of Woburn. He was also the half-brother of the late Everett Carpenter.

Norman's Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield MA 01880 on Wednesday November 30 at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.

Services are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield.
