Olga E. Limongelli, age 99, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at Brightview Senior Living in Wakefield, just sixteen days shy of her 100th birthday.
Born on August 11, 1926, and raised in Boston's North End, Olga was the beloved daughter of the late Antonio and Rosina (Fucci) DeMasi.
A woman ahead of her time, Olga attended Boston School of Dental Nursing where she trained to become a dental assistant, a career uncommon for women in that era. She went on to work at Boston City Hospital, where she found great fulfillment in caring for others and truly loved her work.
After graduating, Olga met the love of her life, John Limongelli. They were married in 1951 and shared a remarkable 63 years of marriage until John's passing in May 2014. Their love and devotion to one another was evident to everyone who knew them. They built a beautiful life together, and those who loved Olga find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with the man she missed so dearly.
Together they raised their three children in Melrose, where Olga created a home filled with unconditional love, warmth, and kindness. She was happiest when caring for her family. An exceptional cook, she was especially known for her baking. Hardly a day passed without the aroma of freshly baked cakes or cookies filling her kitchen. Family gatherings were often at her house where she worked hard in making every meal so special.
Nothing brought Olga greater joy than her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and a cherished great-grandmother. Her quiet strength, generous heart, and unwavering love will remain an enduring legacy for all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Olga was the beloved mother of Francis J. Limoncelli and his wife, Nancy, of Rye, New Hampshire; John A. Limongelli and his wife, Paula, of Manchester, New Hampshire; and Lisa O. Adragna and her husband, Stephen, of Wakefield. She is also survived by her six cherished grandchildren: Steven Limongelli, Katie Bonyman, Julia Limongelli, Nicholas Adragna, Kristiana Silvera, and John Adragna; and her four adored great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters-in-law, Grace Rosselli and Barbara Limoncelli, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends from Brightview who will miss her deeply.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion Street, Wakefield, on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held prior to the Mass from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield. Interment will follow at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
