Patricia A. Kelleher, 93, of Wakefield MA passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026. She was born in Reading, MA on March 30, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Nicholas W. and Helen R. Halloran. She graduated from Reading Memorial High School. Pat was a homemaker raising her family in Wakefield.
She shared 37 years of marriage with her husband, Timothy J. Kelleher, DMD until his passing in August 1989. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia de Garavilla of Wakefield, MA; Susan Howlett of North Andover, MA; Kathleen Cunningham of Suffield, CT; Ann Campbell (James) of Hampton, NH, and Alice Perry (Sam) of Parrish, FL. Also surviving her is her son-in-law, Richard Rea of Wakefield, MA. Pat leaves 15 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Pat is predeceased by daughter, Carolyn Rea and sons-in-law, Stephen de Garavilla, John Howlett and Lawrence Cunningham, Jr. She was sister to the late Alice Garrity (Joseph); Mary Whalen (John); Martin “Nick” Halloran (Rita) Richard Halloran (Darrell) and nephew, Michael Whalen. Also predeceasing her were 2 great-grandchildren, Liana and Morgan Paré.
Pat was an avid New England Patriots fan and watched all the games faithfully rooting for Tom Brady and the team. She enjoyed listening to music – Elvis was a favorite among many. Many of her cherished memories involved celebrating birthdays, graduations and sports activities with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pat had a special talent for holiday decorating and hosting special occasions at her home. She visited England, France, and several US states. Shopping and dining out with family and friends were also favorite activities.
Pat’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion Street, Wakefield on Thursday, January 29 at 10am. Visitation hours for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield on Wednesday, January 28 from 4-7pm. Interment will take place at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
