Patricia A. O'Brien

Patricia A. “Pat” (Brown) O’Brien, 72, of West Yarmouth, formerly of Wakefield, died on Sunday, June 9, at Cape Cod Hospital.

Born in Cambridge on May 3, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Frederick L. and Irene V. (Hart) Brown.

Pat was a graduate of St. Mary of the Annunciation High School (Cambridge) class of 1970, and Mount Auburn School of Nursing class of 1973.

Pat was the loving mother of Evan O’Brien and his wife Charlene of Wilmington, Meghan O’Brien of Los Angeles, and Sean O’Brien and his wife Kelsey of Bellingham. She was the beloved sister of Deborah DiPerna and her husband Carl of Peabody, Donald Brown and his wife Kathi of Stoneham (formerly of Brighton), and Kellee Kucharski and her husband Wayne of West Yarmouth. She was the proud grandmother of Cora and Jack O’Brien, Penny and Davis O’Brien, and Arthur O’Brien.

Recently retired from her career as an operating room nurse for the better part of 50 years, Pat enjoyed spending her days decorating and hosting family at her home on the Cape. She dedicated her life to the happiness of her children, of whom she was extremely proud, and she is lovingly remembered as a doting Nana, a loyal sister, and a caring friend to all who knew her. Her greatest joy was spending time with her four beautiful grandchildren.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., on Tuesday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to noon. Private interment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association at https://www.heart.org.
