Patricia Sweeney

Patricia H . Sweeney , 78, of Stoneham died on Tuesday August 16, at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Cambridge on December 9, 1943 to James and Helen (Gutoski) Kelly.

Pat was raised in Watertown and was a graduate of Watertown High School, Class of 1962. After high school she worked for the Harvard Club of Boston for several years. She married her beloved husband, Thomas, in 1969. After having children, she remained working from home while raising her family. She later worked at Pine Banks Animal Hospital as a receptionist in the 1980's. She adored animals and especially spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to crochet, needlepoint, and sew, and was an avid reader. She was a very talented cook, often making memories by hosting holiday gatherings.

She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Sweeney . She was the loving mother of two daughters Linda Riker (Scott) of Melrose and their children Aidan and Kaitlyn, and Patty Cameron of Gilmanton, NH (Robert Cameron of Sanbornton, NH) and their children Alex, Danny, Keith, and Connor. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham on Tuesday at 10:00. Visitation for relatives and friends will be at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home 322 Main St. Stoneham on Monday 4-7pm.
