Paul R. DeVoe

Paul Raymond DeVoe, a gifted musician and dedicated family man, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. He was 71 years old. Paul is now reunited with his beloved wife of 50 years, Cindy, who predeceased him just eight months ago on July 9, 2025.

Born on May 15, 1954, to the late Lorraine and Robert DeVoe, Paul was raised in Salem, Massachusetts, as one of eight children. A lifelong resident of the North Shore, he lived in Wakefield for over 50 years. Paul was a hard worker who dedicated many years of his life as a Chemical Operator at Bostik, where he worked until his retirement in 2013.

Music was Paul’s greatest passion. An extraordinary musician with a "musician’s ear," he could play almost any song simply by hearing it. Whether he was playing the violin, guitar, or drums, his talent was a gift he shared generously, most notably during his many years performing with The Right Band.

Known for his easy-going nature, Paul was truly up for anything. He was at his happiest when he was outdoors, whether he was biking, fishing, or enjoying a quiet morning walk. His family will always treasure the memories of camping trips with friends—times defined by his adventurous spirit and the company of those he loved.

Paul is survived by his two daughters: Danielle DeVoe and her fiancé Lawrence Porter of Hillsboro, NH, and Nicole Goetz and her husband Donald of Burlington, MA. He was the proud grandfather of seven: Jade, Ryan, Edward, Holly, Kaylee, Charlotte, and Allison.

He is also survived by his siblings: Vivian Abate (and her late husband, Alfred) of Methuen, MA; Cathy Doyon and husband Bert of Hooksett, NH; Nancy Libby and husband Bill of Danvers, MA; Robert DeVoe and wife Lois of Port St. Lucie, FL; Michelle Ricci and husband Tom of Groveland, MA; and Michael DeVoe of Salem, NH. He was predeceased by his brother, Steven DeVoe. Paul also leaves behind a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who were like family to him.

At the request of the family, a private service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Paul’s memory to Mystic Valley Elder Services. This non-profit organization provided invaluable support and care to both Paul and Cindy over the last few years, and the family is deeply grateful for their assistance.
