Paul F. Murphy

Paul Murphy a devoted family man, proud Army veteran, and friend to many, passed away on Saturday, April 11 at the age of 86. Paul was a longtime resident of Lynnfield, MA and spent the last 16 years in Londonderry, NH.

He was born in Medford on March 16,1940 and was the son of the late John R. Murphy, Alice D. Curley and stepmother Helen Murphy.

Paul worked at American Mutual in Wakefield for over 40 years and lived a life rooted in devotion—to his family, his faith, and the simple joys that brought people together. He was a loving husband, father, uncle, brother and friend, whose greatest joy came from time spent with those he loved. Whether it was sharing stories, offering guidance, coaching, being a scout master, or simply being present, he always made everyone feel valued and supported.

Paul had a special gift for storytelling, sharing memories, lessons, or a well-timed joke and had a way of drawing people in and making them feel at home.

He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, wisdom, generosity and for the way he brought people together. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he created. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

He was the beloved husband of Margaret Murphy. He was the father of Sean Murphy and his wife, Kelly of Beverly, the late Paul F Murphy, Jr and his surviving wife Christine of Danvers and the late Colleen M. Murphy.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday April 16 from 4-7 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield on Friday April 17 at 10:30 a.m. Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.
