Priscilla L. McCarron, of Wakefield died on Wednesday, October 26 at her home after a long and courageous struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Medford on November 8, 1943 Priscilla was the daughter of the late Creighton and Lillian (Johnson) Perry.
A talented and wonderful artist, Priscilla was a graduate of Wakefield High School and went on to receive a B.A in Painting and Illustration from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, Class of 1965. Priscilla was the creative artist that designed and implemented maps of the United Stated on the playgrounds of several elementary schools in the town of Wakefield. She also served as a substitute art teacher in the Wakefield Public School system. Additionally, Priscilla was a free-lance artist for Harvard Magazine and also Independent School, the magazine of the National Association of Independent Schools. Above all, Priscilla is remembered as being a person who consistently put family and friends first throughout her lifetime.
While facing Alzheimer's disease over the past decade, Priscilla never lost her desire to help family, friends and the world. She faced each day with a smile.
Priscilla was the beloved wife of Daniel J. McCarron for 51years and the cherished mother of Michael McCarron and his wife Chantal of North Reading. Grandmother of Lucas Michael McCarron. Priscilla is also survived by her sister Lorraine Foss and her husband Brad of Wakefield, her brother David Perry of Wakefield, and several nieces and nephews whom she adored.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 10 at the Union Congregational Church, 148 Haverhill St., North Reading at 11am.
