9:30 - 11:00 am (Eastern time)
Richard Brangiforte, 83, of Lynnfield, MA, passed away peacefully on October 8th, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in East Boston, MA, Rick was the son of the late Deebie “Ruth” and Philip Brangiforte. After completing his education, he proudly answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Air Force. His time in the service was a source of great pride for him.
Rick returned home, met and married his wife of nearly 50 years, Patti, and together they built a life centered around hard work, community, and above all, family. For more than 50 years, Rick owned and operated his successful real estate business, Century Realty of Lynn, MA. He was also a proud member of the Rotary Club of Lynn.
Rick was a vibrant man who knew how to find joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved to meet friends at his favorite place, The Wardhurst, for lunch, cook for his family on holidays, and was always up for a good game of cards. He loved taking trips to the casino, where he could happily spend hours testing his luck playing video poker. At home, you could often find him watching the Patriots or Red Sox, as a faithful fan.
Though he loved the thrill of the cards and “the art of the sale”, Rick’s greatest jackpot was always his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Patti. He was a patient, loving father to Jay and his wife Cindy, and Samantha and her husband Matt. Above all, a proud Grandpa to his favorite grandson Michael, and his “Dollies” Layla and Malyna, who brought an endless smile to his face.
Rick was also survived by his siblings Sonny, Bobby, Jimmy, Linda and Stephen. He was a favorite uncle to his many nieces and nephews, always ready with a clever joke, a shared story, or a supportive cheer from the sidelines of a game.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend his visitation on Thursday October 15th from 9:30-11am at McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield. A private Graveside ceremony will follow, at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rick’s memory to the Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation at www.lustgarten.org.
