Richard A. “Rick” Mancuso passed away unexpectedly on May 31, 2025 at the age of 55. A lifelong Wakefield, MA resident, Rick attended elementary school in his beloved Greenwood neighborhood before graduating from Wakefield Memorial High School. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from UMass Lowell and subsequently studied at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He honed his skills throughout a successful career in the semiconductor test equipment industry, spending many years with Cohu (aka LTX Corporation) and related entities. Rick’s technical capabilities extended well beyond the office, and his trademark patience helped him when friends called with any computing or IT questions or issues.
He was a devoted son to the late Evelyn and Salvatore Mancuso, as well as a loyal friend throughout his life. He enjoyed traveling to Italy with his parents and celebrating holidays with extended family. Rick’s easy-going demeanor belied his quick wit, especially evident on the golf course or watching Boston sports teams play. Golf trips from Myrtle Beach to Las Vegas to Cape Cod were highlights over the years--where the time with friends off the course was as memorable as the rounds themselves. Most recently, he especially loved spending time in Southwest Florida, escaping New England during the winter months.
Rick will be forever missed by his cousins, Alfred Mastracchio, Robert Duva, Steven Duva and their families, as well as his many close friends who became Rick’s second family.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main Street, Wakefield on Friday, June 13 at 11:30AM. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield prior to Mass from 9:30-11am. Interment, Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
