Robert Encarnacao

During a gentle late-autumn sunset on November 15th 2021, Robert P . Encarnacao passed away peacefully with the love of family by his sideat the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. Robert was 77 years young.

Robert ("Bob") was born in Wakefield, Massachusetts in 1944. He attended high school in Wakefield where, like his older brothers who were naturally gifted in sports, he made varsity sports at an early age and captained teams in football, basketball, and baseball. He enlisted in the US Army in Germany during the Vietnam era to train as a medic with a focus on psychiatric medicine. After his tour, he continued with his education at UMass Boston, started a family, and pursued careers in entertainment, restaurant management, and sales. Although for many years he lived away from his hometown, in Rhode Island and Connecticut, and as far away as Buffalo, New York, his true home was always Wakefield.

Bob spent his life devoted to friends and family. Being one of the youngest siblings in his large family, he was an enthusiastic conversationalist and loved getting to know new people and making good friends. This helped him to excel in musical entertainment during his twenties primarily as a guitarist and singer for the New England rock band, The Friendly Persuasion, which toured local classy night clubs and family restaurants in the seventies. His exceptionally outgoing demeanor combined with his eagerness to succeed, propelled him into a successful career in business-to-business sales and eventually leadership roles with Pitney Bowes for over two decades. At Pitney Bowes, Bob was known as a warm, genuine, eternally optimistic, and always "willing to lend a helping hand" kind of guy. His generosity of spirit will be missed by those whose lives and hearts he's touched.

He is survived by three children, his son, Robert Sean; daughters, Sharon and Julie; sisters, MaryAnn and Elizabeth; brother, Charles; six grandchildren, Bradley, Carter, Jayden, Hudson, Grayson, and Ellie; two great-grandchildren, Thomas and Hannah; and countless cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former wife and mother of his three children, Patricia Fitzmaurice.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Anthony ("Tony") Montrond, Julio, Manuel, Arthur, John, and Richard Encarnacao , and his sisters Ann Custodio and Mary De Cruz.

The family would especially like to thank Beth Geary for 25 years of dedication as Bob's nurse. They would also like to thank the staff of Beaumont Natick and MetroWest Medical Center for their compassion and care.

On Saturday, November 20th, a visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue in Wakefield between 9am and 10:30am followed by an 11am Funeral Mass at St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Avenue in Wakefield.
