Robert J. "Bob" Ramocki

Robert J. “Bob” Ramocki of Wakefield passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2025, at the age of 72, while doing what he loved most, helping others. His life was defined by his deep devotion to his family, his honorable service as a Police Officer with the Wakefield Police Department, and a kind soul that touched countless lives.

Bob was the beloved husband of Lois (Thacker) Ramocki, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. Together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family. He was a loving and proud father to Jennifer Cefalo and husband Amoroso Cefalo, Robert J. Ramocki Jr. and wife Jenny Wiley, and Thomas Ramocki and wife Lorin (Hellmer) Ramocki.

He was a devoted grandfather to Nicco, Isabella, and Olivia Cefalo, and Charlotte Ramocki. To his grandchildren, he was not only their Papa, but their best friend, always present at games and practices, cheering from the sidelines, offering encouragement, sharing jokes, teasing, watching movies, and even doing yard work together. He adored them beyond measure.

Bob was the son of the late Officer Max Ramocki and Dorothy (Garrity) Ramocki of Wakefield, and a cherished brother to Stephen Ramocki of Wakefield and Janet Fedele of Sandwich, Massachusetts. He proudly served the Wakefield Police Department alongside his father Max and brother Stephen, continuing a meaningful family legacy of service.

Appointed as a full-time Wakefield Police Officer in 1979, Bob became a detective in 1987 and was later named the D.A.R.E. Officer for the Wakefield school system in 1993. While he held many roles during his long and dedicated career, it was his time as “Officer Bob” in the D.A.R.E. program that brought him the greatest joy and sense of purpose. Through the D.A.R.E. program, Bob impacted the lives of thousands of children. He volunteered on overnight field trips at Camp Bournedale and Nature’s Classroom, taught kids how to skate while running the Learn to Skate program and established the D.A.R.E. April vacation street hockey tournament for many years. He also enjoyed coaching youth hockey for many years. Everything Bob did was for the kids. His presence brought comfort and laughter to so many children and he had a rare gift for making everyone around him feel safe, valued, and cared for.

At home, Bob was a devoted husband who cherished many summers spent with Lois at the family cottage in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. He enjoyed traveling with Lois on cruises, and treasured quiet nights at home, where he was known to be an amazing cook. He had great memories of spending quality time with his wife, kids, and grandchildren.

He was also deeply proud of his garden. He tended his garden with a quiet devotion, finding joy in every part of the process. Gardening was more than a pastime for Bob, it was a way for him to share his passion and care for others. Bags of tomatoes, peppers, and squash often made their way into the hands of family, friends, neighbors, the Wakefield Police Department, and the Galvin Middle School. They were always delivered by Bob with a smile and a few kind words.

Above all, Bob was a humble and deeply kind man who gave of himself freely and quietly, never seeking recognition. He helped others simply because it was the right thing to do, always thinking of others before himself. He was a constant, loving presence in the lives of those who knew him and will be remembered forever for his generosity, compassion, and kind soul.

Robert J. Ramocki leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and selflessness that will continue to live on through his family and the countless lives he touched.
