Roberta F. Sardella

Roberta F. Sardella, of Stoneham, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on April 23, 2024.

Roberta was the loving wife of 37 years to Daniel Sardella and devoted mother to daughter Lauren (Sardella) Mahoney and husband Kevin of Tewksbury, son James Sardella of Stoneham and his partner Jamie Hayes of Southborough.  Cherished Nana to Keagan and Conor Mahoney.

Born and raised in Somerville to the late Guido “Jim” and Sara (Carrozza) Bossi. Roberta was a dear sister to Pauline Lampropoulos and husband Demetrious “Jimmy” of Lynnfield, James Bossi and wife Abigail of Somerville, Rosanne Hudgins of Medford, and the late Elizabeth “Honey” Centrella and John Bossi, Sr. “Auntie Berta” was adored by several nieces and nephews and proudly held the title of “Mama Sar” to all of her children’s friends. 

Roberta grew up spending summers in York Beach, Maine, a tradition she kept alive for her own family every year. An avid animal lover her entire life, a house was never a home without a pet. A natural caregiver, she retired from her career at the Department of Corrections to take care of her mother and ailing sister while raising her own family. She was always a true advocate for family, friends and any worthy cause. The life of the party, Roberta will be tremendously missed by everyone who knew her. 

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Raphael’s Church, 512 High St, MEDFORD on Tuesday April 30 at 10:00am. Visiting hours at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, WAKEFIELD on Monday April 29 from 4:00-7:00pm. Interment, Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford
