Robinson E. Rummel, (Bob) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 19, 2025, in Plant City, FL. Bob was born November 15, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Florence of seventy-seven years, his three sons, Bob and Linda, David and Phoenix, and Scott, his four grandchildren Stephanie and Ryan Morrisey, Eric, Julia and Khaled Hamdan, Sarah and Dane Benton, and his great granddaughter Elora Hamdan.
Bob, a 20 year veteran of WW II, Korea and Vietnam, and Senior Master Sargent in the United States Air Force (Ret.), specializing in Explosives and Ordinance Disposal (EOD) attended the second ever class of the Bomb Disposal School in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Indian Head, Maryland, and ultimately achieved the qualification of Master EOD technician for 15+ years of service in a senior supervisory position.
Bob will always be remembered for his friendliness, helpfulness, volunteering efforts, war stories, quick wit, supervisory skills (especially to his sons), Fred Astaire like dancing ability, and love for his family.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan-Anderson Funeral Home, 322 Main Street, Stoneham on Wednesday November 5 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m, followed by interment at Woodend Cemetery, 33 Franklin St., Reading at 1:00 p.m.
