Rocco Joseph "Rocky" Rizzuto passed away on May 11, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on August 8, 1932, he was the beloved son of Joseph J. Rizzuto and Mafalda "Peggy" DeSimone.
Rocky lived a life of service. He was proud of his service in the Air Force during the Korean War. After leaving the Air Force he joined the US Postal Service. Upon leaving the Postal Service he went on to the Police Academy and entered the Metropolitan District Commission Police Force. He rose to the rank of Sergeant and retired after serving for 24 years.
Rocky was a devoted husband and father. He was married to Carole Brooks, with whom he helped raise her children. On July 10, 1992, he married Kathy Rizzuto in Newburyport and lovingly helped raise her two daughters. Kathy preceded him in passing in March of this year.
He was also a cherished brother to James J. Rizzuto and Rosalie G. Colarusso, who have passed, and his surviving sister, Marie Frizzi of Melrose, Massachusetts.
Rocky was a devoted father and stepfather, embracing his role with warmth and dedication. He is survived by his stepchildren, Karl Kriegermeier and Mark Kreigermeier, both of Kihei, Hawaii, as well as his late stepson, Kieth Krieg, who is lovingly remembered. His children, Michael Boudreau of Kihei, Hawaii, Barbara Miller, of Framingham, Massachusetts, and Diane Hadley of Berlin, New Hampshire, hold dear the memories of his unwavering love and guidance.
Beyond his immediate family, Rocky’s love and kindness extended to his many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will remember him fondly. His legacy is one of deep family bonds, unwavering support, and a life lived with love and dedication.
His Funeral Service will be held in the McDonald-Finnegan-Anderson Funeral Home, 322 Main Street, Stoneham, MA on Tuesday, May 20 at 12pm. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held prior to the service from 10am-12pm. Interment, Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
