Ronald Smith

Ronald P . Smith , 89, a long time resident of Lynnfield and West Yarmouth died Tuesday, December 28th at his home in Andover.

Born in Falmouth on June 20, 1921 he was the son of the late Harold F. and Elsie C. (Murray) Smith .

Mr. Smith was raised by his aunt and uncle, Ernest and Jean Ellis, following the death of his parents. He was a graduate of Plymouth High School and the General Electric Apprentice Program. Ronald served in the Navy during WWII. He worked as a manufacturing engineer for General Electric for 40 years, retiring 30 years ago. He enjoyed his family, friends and traveling the world with his wife.

Mr. Smith was the husband of the late Margaret (Cant) Smith . He was the father of Frederick R. Smith and wife Dr. Diane Kozwich of Nottingham, NH, Joanne M. Mellady and the late Steven Mellady of N. Attleboro, Jean E. Sinofsky and Dr. Edward Sinofsky of Dennis and Joyce L. Smith of Andover. Brother of Margaret Goulding of W. Yarmouth and the late Harold Fenton Smith . He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Allison J. Sinofsky and Andrew L. Smith .

A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Sunday from 12 to 2 o'clock immediately followed by a service at 2 o'clock also at the funeral home.
