Rosemary T. White

Rosemary T. White, age 82, of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, and formerly a longtime resident of Wakefield, Massachusetts, passed away on April 20, 2026, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

Born on May 26, 1943, in Melrose, Rosemary was the cherished daughter of the late John F. and Alice P. (Donahoe) Mahoney. She grew up in Wakefield, where she formed lifelong friendships and graduated from Wakefield High School before continuing her studies at the University of Kansas, earning her degree in Education.

Rosemary spent many years of her life teaching in the Wakefield public schools, where she became a beloved elementary school teacher, known for her dedication, hard work and lasting impact on many of the Wakefield students.

An avid reader with a love for simple joys, Rosemary found happiness in early morning long walks, sewing, and celebrating her Irish heritage. She spent many hours researching her Irish ancestry to include nine trips to Ireland to ensure her research was accurate. She had a deep appreciation for travel and treasured the time she spent with family and friends. Rosemary found great joy in carrying on cherished family traditions and was a constant, loving presence at her grandchildren’s events, always showing her support with pride. In retirement, she and her husband, H. Edward White, Jr., created a life filled with adventure and connection—splitting their time between their home on Lake Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, and sunny winters in Florida, from Anna Maria Island to, more recently, Jensen Beach.

She was the beloved wife of H. Edward White, Jr. She was the loving mother of Sharon Carney and her beloved companion Armand LeBlanc of Peabody, MA, Susan O’Connor and her husband Michael of Lynn, MA, Stephanie Rice and her husband Jamie of Walpole, MA, and Sarah Scott and her husband Christopher of Lynn, MA. She was the cherished grandmother of Christopher, Meghan, Caitlin, Abigail, Sadie, Mark, Erika, Kayla, James, and Matthew; and the proud great grandmother of Delaney. She is also survived by her brother, John F. Mahoney of Delaware.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield, MA on Monday, April 27 at 10 AM. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, MA on Sunday, April 26 from 1 – 4 PM.
