Sally Frances (Hevey) Dewey, a longtime Wakefield resident, died on October 13, 2025 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She is survived by her beloved husband Charles F. Dewey, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.

She was born on January 8, 1941 and was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Sherry) Hevey. She was raised in Winchester, the youngest of five daughters. She was the dear sister of Jacqueline Heneghan of Chicago, and the late Joan Richardson of Woburn, Barbara Darrah of Belmont, and Janet Jacomet of Florida.

Sally had attended the Lawrence Memorial School of Nursing and went right to work at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after completion of her nursing program; ultimately going to work for and retire from Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She spent most of her career as an operating room nurse, a role she very much enjoyed. She had been a longtime Wakefield resident and was a parishioner at Most Blessed Sacrament Church.

Visitation for relatives and friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday, Oct 17 from 9:30-10:30am; followed by her funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 11am. Interment to follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
