Sally M. Flickinger
Sally raised her family in Lynnfield, Massachusetts where she loved to work in her flower gardens and plant beautiful flowers. She was a “Daughter of the Revolution” just like her mother Hildeguard, and was a direct descendent of Henry Hudson. She was an active member and Sunday School Teacher at the Centre Congregational Church of Lynnfield for nearly 60 years. She loved going to antique shows to purchase rundown old furniture to fixup and refurbish. Sally’s passion for antiques turned into her own business when she opened the “Christmas Country” store in Lynnfield Center before moving her business to the Gray Goose in Londonderry, NH. Sally also loved going to their home in Chatham, Massachusetts near Ridgevale Beach. She enjoyed family bike rides and picnics, sailing, the beach, boat rides on the “Moby Flick”, taking tons of photos and videos of her family, picking wild raspberry’s and beach plums to make jelly, and socializing with their friends and neighbors in Chatham.
Sally was the beloved wife of the late Henry S. “Flick” Flickinger. Loving mother of Henry S. “Hank” Flickinger, Jr. and his wife Bridget of Lyme, New Hampshire; Holly M. Flickinger Weiss and Keith M. Cianfrani of The Villages, Florida; Richard S. “Sandy” Flickinger and his wife Sarah of Magnolia, Massachusetts; and Susan B. Flickinger O’Leary and her husband Robert of Hudson, New Hampshire. She was the sister of the late Carl P. “Pat” Flanagan, Jr. and his late wife Patricia of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
She was the adoring grandmother of Sarah Flickinger & Joel Knutsson of Maine, Michael & Tori Flickinger of Montana, Andrew & Taylor Flickinger of Rhode Island, Keely & Brian Vaughan of New Hampshire, Patrick Fillo of New Hampshire, Cole & Halie Flickinger of New Hampshire, William & Rachel Fillo of New Hampshire; Theresa & Corey Maitz of Pennsylvania, Thomas “Blake” & Cydney Weiss of Pennsylvania, Henry “Broock” Weiss of Connecticut, and Paige Weiss of Pennsylvania; Cormac Flickinger of Illinois, Colbi Flickinger of Illinois; and Zaira O’Leary of New Hampshire, and Zailyn O’Leary of New Hampshire. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Adeline “Addie” Flickinger and Louis Vaughan.
A Private Graveside Service for family is being held at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield, MA. Arrangements were in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield, MA.
