Sharla Sieve

Sharla Jean Sieve (Caico), a kind, beautiful, and giving soul born August 24,1973, entered into eternal rest on December 7, 2022.

She passed gracefully and too soon after a fearless and tenacious battle with cancer. Sharla faced her journey as she did all she encountered; with courage, optimism and humor.

Sharla grew up in the town of Lynnfield. When she was younger she attended Lynnfield High School and excelled on the tennis court. She set multiple records that have yet to be broken.

Sharla then attended Seton Hall University where she continued her passion for tennis and set records once again.

After college, Sharla returned home to work as a Lynnfield Middle School teacher while simultaneously earning her master’s degree.

She was the coach of the high school boys’ tennis team for several years and led the team to two league championships.  Soon after, Sharla eagerly entered into her true life’s calling; motherhood. Sharla was a beloved, devoted, and proud mother to her five children. She filled her days with multiple activities while providing love, nurture, and fun for her kids. She created a loving home where everyone felt welcomed. All who entered noticed her flair for decorating, especially seasonally.  She also had a knack for organization and efficiency stemming from her days as a teacher.  Sharla was affectionately known for her daily fast-paced walks through town and her friendly wave to all she passed. If you met Sharla, you were touched by her. Sharla’s light was contagious and will live on forever in her friends, family, and all who were blessed by her love.  She had a village of friends who provided unwavering support and for whom her family is forever grateful.   Sharla’s ability to always see the good, along with her efforts for quietly helping others, will be her lasting legacy.  Her too short presence on earth was a gift to all who called her a friend.

Sharla was the cherished daughter of Sharon J. (Mitchell) Caico of Lynnfield and is predeceased by her father, Joseph Caico.

Sharla’s light will continue to shine through her children; Alex, Ben, Maddie, Olivia and Mitchell, their father James Sieve, and her beloved dog, Piper.

She was the loving sister of Gina Murray and her husband Steve of Andover, Lisa Roycroft and her husband Steve of Marshfield, and Maria Caico of North Reading.  Sharla is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut Street, Lynnfield on Monday, December 12 at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the church on Sunday from 1-4pm. Interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.
