Thomas E. "Tucker" Hurton

Thomas E. “Tucker” Hurton Jr., 74 a lifelong resident of Wakefield died Sunday September 3, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital. 

Born in Winchester December 12, 1948 he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Bean) Hurton.

Tucker was a graduate of Wakefield High School class of 1966 and Suffolk University class of 1980. He served in the Army during the Vietnam Era from 1968 to 1971. Tucker was a retired sales representative and a former truck driver for Carolina Freight. 

He was the beloved husband of Joan (Ferris) Hurton and the loving father of Thomas E. “Tucker” Hurton III and his wife Robin of Nottingham, NH, and Sean J. Hurton and his wife Alicia of Methuen. He was the brother of Philip Hurton of Hopkinton, Barbara Drews of Phillipston, Lois Dishman of Gardner, John Hurton, Paul Hurton, and Mary Nardone all of Wakefield. Preceded in death by his sister Paula Hurton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Thomas E. “Tucker” IV and John and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Lazarus Center for Healing (St. Florence Parish), 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield on Friday September 8, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday from 5-7 p.m.
