Thomas Lynch

Thomas K . Lynch , affectionately known as Tom, Tommy or TK, passed away on April 23, 2021, one day shy of his 72 birthday following a brief illness and a courageous 4 year battle with lung cancer. Tom leaves behind his beloved wife of almost 51 years, Diane, his daughter MaryElizabeth and her husband Jonathan Lent, his deeply loved and cherished granddaughter, Catherine Jean, and his two "best girls," dogs Holly and Lexi.

Tom was a lifelong resident of Wakefield and graduated Wakefield High School, Class of 1967. After graduating, he joined the U.S. Army, serving honorably. Tom worked at the MuniLease Corporation and eventually for the Mass. Registry of Motor Vehicles, until his retirement in 2017.

Tom was the most amazing husband, father and grandfather. In his spare time, he loved to walk the dogs, putter around his yard, and work in his basement workshop fixing things or rebuilding things. However, he most enjoyed spending time with his girls, who were his everything.

Diane and MaryElizabeth wish to thank Dr. Zosia Piotrowskia (Dr. P), her team, and everyone at the Mass. General Cancer Center, who help to give us over 4 more precious years with Tom after his cancer diagnosis.

Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Tuesday at 11:30am. Visitation for relatives and friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday from 4-7pm. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
