Timothy Mccarthy

Timothy J . McCarthy , age 63 of Reading, died on Wednesday, September 7 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

He was born in Boston on May 17, 1959 and was the son of the late Timothy J . McCarthy , Jr. and Elizabeth A. (Conlon) McCarthy .

Tim was raised in Arlington and was a graduate of Arlington High School, Class of 1977. He was a dedicated member of the Teamsters Local 25, working in the Tradeshow Division - enjoying the hard work but making lifelong friends along the way. Tim was a longtime member of the Medford Elks, the Dante Club of Somerville, and the Italian American Club of Malden. He loved to travel abroad, most especially to Mexico, where he had a timeshare which allowed him to experience much of the country. Tim also enjoyed more local trips, most notably to Mohegan Sun, where you could always find him at the roulette table; as well as trips to Gloucester, where he enjoyed summers spent on the beach and making friends with the local fisherman.

Above all things, Tim loved and cherished his family and friends - he made friends wherever he went, and his family was always his top priority. Tim treated his nieces like they were his own, always taking them on special outings. He enjoyed spending time with his siblings and family on holidays; where he let his passion for cooking shine. Everyone who knew Tim will remember him for his giving heart, warmth, and generosity.

He was the beloved partner of Alison Rothwell of Reading. He was loving brother of John "Mike" McCarthy and his wife Janet of Woburn and Teresa "Terry" Corrigan and her husband William of Wakefield. Tim was the loving uncle of Meaghan, Elizabeth "Beth", Mary and the late Paige. He is also survived by his great niece Mila and great nephew Harrison.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Monday, September 12 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 13 at St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10:00 a.m.
