Victor R. Rivers, 88, of Wakefield, died on Thursday, May 28 at the Woburn Nursing Center.
Born in Worcester on October 19, 1920 he was the son of the late Edmund and Ethel (Rutherford) Rivers.
Mr. Rivers was a graduate of Worcester High School. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945. He was a retired Air Traffic Manager for Pan Am Airlines and later worked as a Travel Manager for Admiral Pat's Cruise Vacations.
Mr. Rivers was a member of the Crystal Community Club, the Skull Club and the VFW in Wakefield.
He is survived by his wife Ann (Peteusky) Rivers and two sons, Robert V. Rivers and his wife Janet of Stoneham and Richard R. Rivers and his wife Gail of Wakefield. He is also survived by his 2 granddaughters, Kelly Ann and Jennifer Lee Rivers.
A memorial service will be held in the First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St., Wakefield on Saturday June 6 at 11 am, followed by a reception at the church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Funeral services will be private.
