Virginia Day Hill

Virginia Day Hill, age 91, a lifelong resident of Stoneham passed away at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading on October 2, 2025.

She was born in Stoneham on December 16, 1933 and was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Hedgerly) Wilson.

Mrs. Hill was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1951. She had worked for and retired from the Stoneham Co-operative Bank. Mrs. Hill enjoyed knitting and her family. She looked forward to family vacations with great enthusiasm and most enjoyed the many cruises they took.

She was the beloved wife of Richard H. Hill. She was the loving mother of Richard Hill, Jr. and his wife Christina and Dana Hill and his wife Jeanne, all of Wilmington. She was the adoring grandmother of Katherine, Jeffrey, Elizabeth, James and Timothy; and the great grandmother of Giovanni.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan-Anderson Funeral Home, 322 Main Street, Stoneham on Tuesday, October 7 from 4-7PM.

Her Funeral Service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
