Walter Havey

Walter E. Havey, 76, of Wakefield, died at the E.N. Rogers VA Hospital in Bedford on Thursday February 19.

Born in Boston on June 15, 1932, he was the son of the late Walter A. and Helen (Hamilton) Havey.

Walter was a graduate of Commerce High School in Boston in 1950 and Northeastern University in 1962. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Walter worked for 35 years as an Associate Engineer for the Mitre Corp. in Bedford, MA.

He was active in the community as a Little League Baseball Coach and Mentor. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Saint Florence Church and the D.A.V. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Walter E. Havey was the devoted husband of Joan M. (Boisvert) Havey and beloved father of Robert C. Havey and his wife Peggy of Wakefield and their two daughters Tracey Spirito and Katherine, Mary (Havey) and her husband Scott Fallavollita of W. Newbury and their four children, Laura, Mark, John, and Julie. Paul Havey of Waltham, James Havey and his wife Eilish of N. Reading and their three children, Ryan, Kyle and Rachel Havey, Walter J. Havey and wife Barbra of N. Hampton, NH and their three children, Matthew, Carter and Kendyl Havey. Walter is survived by two brothers, Edgar Havey and wife Margaret of N. Reading and Thomas Havey of Peabody.

His Funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Monday at 9 AM, followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 – 6 PM.
