Wayne Kearney

Wayne Henry Kearney, lovingly known as “Wayway” or “Wayno,” of Stoneham, passed away on May 7, 2026, at the age of 75, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on December 4, 1950, Wayne was a lifelong Stoneham resident who was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and ability to make anyone laugh. A talented mechanic by trade, he was respected by many and always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, or anyone in need.

Family meant everything to Wayne. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and was their biggest supporter in hockey, football, gymnastics, volleyball, lacrosse, and all of life’s important moments. Some of his happiest memories were cheering from the stands, sharing laughs at family gatherings, and creating traditions that will live on forever.

Wayne was a lifelong fan of the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots, and he especially enjoyed tailgating with family and friends before Patriots games. He also loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, taking both long rides and quick trips with friends, especially through New England and to Colebrook.

Wayne was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Carrie Kearney Smith.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Karen Kearney; his son, Jason Kearney; and his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas James Smith, Casey Kearney, and Cash Kearney, along with many extended family members and lifelong friends who will miss him deeply.

Wayne’s family will forever remember his loyalty, humor, generosity, and the love he had for the people around him. His memory will live on in every family gathering, every game cheered from the sidelines, and every ride taken in his honor.

Visitation for friends and family will be held on Friday, May 15th from 4-7pm at The McDonald-Finnegan-Anderson Funeral Home, 322 Main Street Stoneham, MA 02180. His Funeral Service will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan-Anderson Funeral Home on Saturday, May 16 at 10:00 a.m. Interment, Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
