William Twomey, age 64 of Lynnfield, passed away on Thursday September 4.
He was born in Arlington, MA on February 4, 1961 and was the son of Elinor (Madigan) Twomey and the late John Twomey.
Bill grew up in Belmont, MA where he was blessed with friendships that stood the test of time. He was a dedicated professional in commercial real estate, where he built a long and successful career marked by integrity, strong relationships, and an instinct for seeing opportunity where others didn’t. After graduating from the College of the Holy Cross, he began his career as a CPA before moving into commercial real estate, where he found his true professional stride. Whether negotiating deals or mentoring younger colleagues, he brought humor, intelligence, and a personal touch to everything he did.
Bill had a deep love for golf - drawn to the challenge, the focus, and the endless pursuit of a better game. He was fiercely competitive, always looking to shave a stroke off his score or outplay his regular group, but he never let that stop him from keeping things light. Whether it was a great shot or a frustrating one, he had a way of turning it into a moment worth laughing about. For Bill, golf was the perfect mix of skill, patience, and humor and he rarely left the course without a good story.
He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Crawford) Twomey. He was the loving father of Elizabeth Candelino and her husband Nicholas of Malta, New York, Kathleen Healy and her husband Christopher of Topsfield, and William Twomey of Lynnfield. He was the brother of Michael Twomey and his wife Cynthia of Andover, Patricia Twomey of Reading, and John Twomey and his wife Susan of Bedford. Bill is also survived by his grandson Christopher and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday September 11 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut Street, Lynnfield on Friday September 12 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
